Maison Martin Margiela × Eitaro Sohonpo Sealed Candy Tin, 2006
Maison Martin Margiela × Eitaro Sohonpo — Candy Tin, 2006
Produced in Japan in 2006 for Isetan's 120th anniversary. Co-developed with Eitaro, the Nihonbashi confectioner founded in the Edo period (1818). The tins are also said to have been given out when Margiela reopened its Tokyo flagship in Ebisu that same year, though this is unconfirmed.
Still sealed in its original silver foil, printed with the full Margiela 0–23 label legend. Inside is a metal tin with a large Margiela label number on the lid, holding 10 individually wrapped hard candies, each marked with the same number.
For serious Margiela collectors. A rare object from the Martin Margiela era, and a great piece for display.
