KAWS Tokyo First Exhibition Flyer/Poster Framed, 2001
KAWS "Tokyo First" Exhibition Flyer from 2001
Original flyer from Tokyo First, KAWS's first exhibition in Japan, held at Parco Gallery in Shibuya from 16 March to 16 April 2001. His first book, KAWS ONE, came out at the same time through Little More.
The front is a David Sims photograph reworked by KAWS: a masked model with a yellow Bendy wrapped around his waist and Companion figures painted into the background. The reverse is printed in Japanese with the exhibition details, a short text on KAWS's start in New York graffiti, and a row of his early ad interventions. At the bottom are the logos of Supreme, A Bathing Ape, Undercover, Hectic and Parco, from a time when these labels were still underground in Tokyo.
Framed in a black frame with glass on both sides, so both sides can be seen.
